You go down steps and into the main area where the KGB held some prisoners when the Russians invaded Estonia,and there are the actual cells,the cruel instruments that they used on tables,and in glass cabinets,along with books,paper documents,and clothing,and actual beds,chairs,that were used.
The country needed hotels suitable for foreigners, and these hotels had to accommodate KGB as well. The Viru Hotel, open in 1972, is full of various stories - stories about the hotel itself, Soviet society and the development of Estonia.

KGB Cells Museum KGB Cells Museum is situated on Riia hill in the ‘grey building’ which housed the South-Estonia Centre of NKVD/KGB in the 1940s and 50s. Visitors can explore the cellar part, where the cells of the arrested used to be located.
